Exodo desde Uruguay.

Sheriff-Música: Habladnos un poco desde cuando lleváis juntos y como se formo el grupo.

Exodo: la banda se formo allá por el año 1997 con otros integrantes y básicamente nos juntábamos a tocar después de clase y nada más, éramos muy jóvenes y era más un juego que otra cosa. En 1999 fue nuestro primer toque pero recién en el año 2004 nos lanzamos oficialmente como EXODO y allí comenzó todo. En el 2006 se fueron de la banda los integrantes originales y luego de un año de descanso, en el 2007 se rearmo el proyecto con nuevos  integrantes, los que hoy en día están tocando en la banda

Sheriff-Música: ¿Cuántos integrantes sois?

Exodo: En la banda tocando somos 4 integrantes, aunque hay mucha gente por detrás que nos da una mano y seria imposible tocar sin ellos. Los integrantes son Christian Duclos “Sirchristo” a la guitarra y voz, Virginia Machado “Viky” cantante, Darío Briganti “Daro”al bajo y Cesar Rodríguez “El negro” a la batería.

Sheriff-Música: ¿Por qué Exodo?

Exodo: El nombre EXODO simboliza, desde sus comienzos, el espíritu de la banda.  Tomamos el nombre EXODO porque extraemos de el su esencia, el significado de “caminar hacia un objetivo común”,

Entendemos que evangelizar a través del rock es un camino largo lleno de obstáculos y dificultades que al superarlas nos hacen mas fuertes y nos ayudan a seguir caminando, teniendo como norte a Cristo

Sheriff-Música: ¿Qué estilo hacéis?

Exodo: Exodo no tiene un estilo definido, hacemos rock.  En general la gente nos identifica con el hard rock o metal y si bien tocamos estos estilos hacemos de todo, nos gusta experimentar y ver que sale de ellos, tenemos temas de punk, alternativo, rock y hasta baladas.

Los integrantes de la banda tenemos distinto tipo de influencias y cuando nos ponemos a tocar emanan de nosotros y eso es el estilo de la banda, buscamos tener un estilo propio y no parecernos a nada solo a Exodo

Sheriff-Música: ¿Por qué esto de evangelizar con metal?, ¿qué os llama?

Exodo: El metal, así como el rock y otros estilos son manifestaciones del alma, de nuestro interior, uno no toca música solo porque le guste sino porque lo siente y se siente pleno al hacerlo.

Nosotros nos sentimos plenos evangelizando con lo que mas nos gusta que es hacer rock y volcamos en las letras nuestras vivencias y nuestro mensaje buscando anunciar a Cristo, no de una forma tradicional a través de la adoración y alabanza, sino a través de un estilo propio, según la inspiración del momento y nos sentimos mas auténticos y transparentes.

Frente al publico nos mostramos como somos y haciendo la música que nos gusta, escribiendo lo que nos inspira el Espíritu Santo,  no buscamos evangelizar solo por el mensaje que brindamos sino que buscamos hacerlo por lo que somos.

Sheriff-Música: ¿cómo es un concierto de Exodo?

Exodo: bueno... todo aquel que vaya a un concierto de Exodo va a ir a ver una banda de rock que toca con fuerza y que intenta ser coherente en su mensaje. Pero sobretodo intentamos que el clima en los toques sea distendido y ameno, nos divertimos mucho tocando y lo disfrutamos

Sheriff-Música: Quien pudiera veros. ¿Tocáis a menudo?

Exodo: si, gracias a Dios hay una movida importante aqui en nuestro país y en Latinoamérica en general. Desde hace 3 años hemos tocado en Uruguay y Argentina y eso nos ha dado una madurez importante, creemos y esperamos porder seguir tocando en todo lugar donde nos inviten porque ese es nuestro compromiso, anunciar a Cristo en cada rincón del mundo

Sheriff-Música: para finalizar ¿Que les dirías aquellos músicos que están empezando en esto de la música?

Exodo: primero que nada le diríamos que si tienen un sueño con la música y están seguros que ese sueño es de Dios, no duden ni un instante en jugarse por el, este camino es largo y lleno de trabas pero recuerden que Dios siempre nos abre ventanas.

INTERVIEW TO EXODO

Exodo from Uruguay.

SHERIFF MUSICA: Tell us how long you’ve been together and how you made up this group.

EXODO: It started as a game in 1997. We were very yong and used to meet and play after school. It was like a game. Our first presentation was in 1999 but everything started in 2004 when we officially began singing. The first members of the band left in 2006, but it started again a year later with new members, the ones who are playing today.

SHERIFF MUSICA: How many members are there?

EXODO: Four, Christian Duclos “Sircristo”, guitar and voice; Virginia Machado “Viki”, singer; Darío Briganti, “Daro”, bass; and Cesar Rodríguez, drums, but there are many people helping us, and without whom our work would be impossible.

SHERIFF MUSICA:  Why did you name the group Exodo?

EXODO: This name is the spirit of the band. It means walking towards a common aim. We know that evangelizing through rock is difficult, but overcoming obstacles help us feel stronger, being Christ our aim.

SHERIFF MUSICA: What’s your style?

EXODO: We don’t have a definite style, we just make rock. People generally identify us with hard rock or metal but even though we play everything and like experimenting, we have themes of punk, alternative, ballads and rock. The members of the band have many influences and that comes up when we play. We don’t want to resemble anyone, just Exodo.

SHERIFF MUSICA: Why evangelizing with metal?

EXODO: Metal  as well as rock and other styles are expressions of the soul. You don’t play music just because you like it but because you deeply feel it. We feel good evangelizing with rock. In the lyrics we know our personal experience and our message.We try to announce Christ through our own style, according to the inspiration of the moment, and not through praise or worship. We feel authentic this way. We know as we are when playing the music we like and writing what the Holy Spirit inspires. We don’t want to evangelize only for the message but for what we are.

SHERIFF MUSICA:What is a concert of Exodo like?

EXODO: Well, if we hear a concert by Exodo you see a band playing strongly and tying to be coherent with their message. We try the music to be relaxed and pleasant. We enjoy what we do.

SHERIFF MUSICA: Do you play very often?

EXODO: Yes, thanks God there is a big activity in our country and in Latin  America. We’ve played in Uruguay and Argentina in the last three years and that made us mature. We expect to play wherever we are invited and so announce Christ, which is our mission.

SHERIFF MUSICA: What would you say to the musicians who are starting?

EXODO:First  of all if they have a dream and are sure it is God’s dream, don’t hesistate to work for it. The way is long and difficult but God’s help is always near to guide you.
